Computer Tutoring
is one-on-one personalized computer assistance and instruction
that takes place in your home or office—at your convenience.
You will learn on your computer, using your software, and working
on the content of your projects—at your speed.
Everyone learns differently and at different speeds. As your Computer
Tutor, I will customize your tutoring sessions to fit your learning
style and speed. You decide the curriculum: For the novice it could
be learning to write emails, do searches on the internet, and learn
basics on the word-processor. For the experienced, it could be
learning how to more effectively use your applications, or learn
a brand new software application for a specific project.
Working with me you will learn more effectively and efficiently because
you will spend less time repeating unnecessary
actions, fixing problems, or wondering why it worked before and
it doesn't work now. |

Why I Tutor: In every job I had working
with a computer, I always found myself teaching my colleagues on
the computer. I've also taught several family members. The computer
has positively changed my life: it allows me to organize myself and
my thoughts, it helps me present myself more clearly and professionally,
and it gives me a creative outlet.
I enjoy teaching and sharing "tricks
& tools" I've acquired on the computer. After my son was born,
I decided to start my own Computer Tutoring business so that I could
balance my home and business life with more flexibility. I truly
enjoy working with a diverse cliental with a variety of experiences.
Other Computer Experience: I've been
a a member of the Golden Gate Computer Society (GGCS: www.ggcs.org
) since 2003. This is an organization made of novice, intermediate
and experience computer users. Members can attend free Special Interest
Group (SIGs) classes throughout the week. In addition
to writing software and computer book reviews for GGCS I also co-led
the Small Office Home Office
(SOHO) SIG for two years.
